“Prior to coming to New Beginnings, I had been through at least 3 inpatient rehabs and a few IOP’s. I had some clean time before I came, however I still was very depressed and had a lot of aimless thoughts. I didn’t really have much of any direction. I had very little self-esteem; I was still at a loss, even though I wasn’t actively using at that time I still had a lot of underlying issues that were unresolved. I was clean, but I was unhappy. Coming to New Beginnings for their IOP program was night and day from that other program. From the time I was in intake with Colin, to the even the office workers like Maribel, they made you feel welcome like part of the family. There was no pressure they put you at ease. I went into the program and started working with Frank Galimidi, who is an amazing therapist. I attended three times a week for the IOP group, an hour of one-on-one sessions, and I really started to tackle some of the core issues that I had left undealt with. All of the employees are great. The way the groups are run really gets everybody else involved and working with each other. And it was an amazing experience from the time I walked in the door til today. Not having insurance, I had to pay out of pocket for treatment, and honestly I can say it was the best investment I had ever made. If I had to do it all over again, I would. It was worth every penny that was paid for the treatment. I’m 100% satisfied from start to finish with this whole program. My advice to anyone seeking treatment would be don’t wait, call as soon as possible. My only regret is not coming to New Beginnings Recovery Center sooner than I did. It’s night and day how my life has become. I never thought that I would be sitting here after 16 years of battling this disease. I have a successful business now, I’m in school to become an addictions professional. If you would have told me that 8 months ago, I would have thought you were crazy. This program has given me my life back.”

Physical therapy is an important part of recovery after hip or knee replacement surgery. But it can also help before surgery. Physical therapist Marcia Esola explains why PT is so important, and what types of exercises patients can expect to do before they’re in the hospital and after they go home from their joint replacement surgery.
